A proud graduate from the University of Rhode Island, Kristina received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art with a concentration in Graphic Design, 3-D Modeling and Animation, Drawing and Painting.
During her 4-year course of study at the University, she completed her first Internship as a Gallery Intern with Judith Tolnick, Director of the Fine Arts Center Galleries. At the end of the Spring Semester, she was asked to design the Annual Juried Student Show Poster (which can be seen on the Graphic Design page) and worked with Martha Langer, Owner of Pear Ink Design, to create the poster. Martha took on Kristina as an Intern and she currently remains her Assistant. Before taking on the Graphic Design Internship with her, Kristina worked as an Undergraduate Researcher for the National Science Foundation's Research Experience for Undergraduates based at the University of Rhode Island. For the summer, Kristina modeled and textured the Ancient Sanctuary of Demeter & Kore from Corinth, Greece. She finished her curriculum at URI and was then asked to participate in an International REU Program, this time in Darmstadt, Germany. Funded by the National Science Foundation, she modeled the Temple of Apollo from the ruins of Pompeii, Italy, in just 4 weeks. Kristina also designed the logo for Oslo Celebrations which is a collaboration between South Africa and Norway in celebrating 10 years of their academic partnership. That logo can also be viewed on the Graphic Design page.
As a Rhode Island native, she is a lover of South County and its beautiful beaches, and has seen many remarkable sunsets and sunrises. Most of her landscapes revolve around the sea and sky. She enjoys working from her own photographs of the environment. She also creates custom abstract acrylic paintings which are created to suit her clients' needs. Please see the Paintings section for photos of these pieces.
Her media of choice are acrylic and pastel.
Kristina would like to express her sincere gratitude to the following individuals: Martha Langer, Owner of Pear Ink Design, for her endless support in all Graphic Design endeavors, and for being the best mentor out there! Judith Tolnick at the Fine Arts Center Galleries for giving Kristina the opportunity to complete her first Internship and for also supporting her graphic design and artistic endeavors; Professors at the University of Rhode Island including Department Chair Barbara Pagh, Ron Hutt, Dr. William Klenk, Lilla Samson, Jeff Bertwell, and Bob Dilworth; Donna Evans for the wonderful opportunity to design her photography website.
